a partner to your passion
In our thirty years of experience providing high-end leather restoration services, we have found that our most discerning and exacting customers are often in the automobile and aircraft sector. Owners, collectors, and aficionados typically have a high-level of knowledge and a passion for their leather that exceeds that of the average consumer. We like to think of ourselves as partners in your passion, supporting your specific needs at the highest level of care and expertise.
Here we have a set of car seats belonging to a 1995 Porsche 928. The seats were fully reupholstered using perforated and non-perforated leather in our Houston workshop. The color was custom matched to the client’s specifications to accent the interior of the rest of the vehicle. We applied an automobile-grade, clear top coat to yield a soft and supple feel while maintaining durability for frequent use. Our team also performed minor restoration work to the interior finishes of the car for a final, polished result.
on the road or up in the air, we keep your leather top notch
At Total Leather Care, our specialists have decades of experience restoring, repairing, and revitalizing aircraft interiors. In fact - it’s where we got our start in the leather business years ago. Leather is a beautiful and durable material but it requires routine maintenance to keep it in prime condition and to ensure longevity.
This type of work typically falls into two categories: full interior overhaul or on-site restoration and maintenance. For a full overhaul, the seats are usually removed and brought to our Houston workshop for reupholstery, colorwork, or significant maintenance. Alternatively, we can perform on-site maintenance services without removing the interior components.
Here we have an example of extensive repair and color work being performed on location in the hangar by our team. We carefully taped-off and protected all components within the aircraft while performing the work. The seats were thoroughly prepared to remove a layer of silicone build-up before the color restoration was undertaken. Color matching was performed to achieve the desired tone, and then the color was applied in multiple coats to the leather components. After proper drying, a clear top coat was applied to yield a soft and supple finish as well as to provide durability for future use.
